Rare earth market update on November 27, 2025
The domestic rare earth market is generally average overall. Under the interplay of bullish and bearish factors, light and heavy rare earth product prices show slightly different trends: praseodymium-neodymium prices slightly increased, while dysprosium-terbium prices slightly decreased. Among them, praseodymium oxide and praseodymium-neodymium oxide prices increased by approximately RMB 1,000/ton and RMB 2,000/ton respectively, while terbium oxide and dysprosium oxide prices decreased by approximately RMB 40,000/ton and RMB 10,000/ton respectively.
In the light rare earth market, affected by magnetic material companies basically maintaining rigid demand procurement, contraction in the circulation of low-priced goods in the market, and the high probability of reduced rare earth output from Malaysia's Lynas factory in the short term, mainstream suppliers have tentatively raised their quotations. In the medium and heavy rare earth market, downstream demand remains relatively low, and to alleviate funding turnover pressure, some holders have chosen to proactively offer discounts to ship goods, but supported by production costs, the price reduction amplitude is relatively small.
On November 25, Caixin reported that Lynas Rare Earths, the largest rare earth producer outside China, announced on Tuesday that due to a severe power outage, its Kalgoorlie processing facility in Western Australia will experience a sharp reduction in capacity.
